ECC6.0 - alert: managed object host=undef_XXX has been changed... : Added

Hello,

can someone tell my how to handle with this message?! We have a couple of these messages. I think they are from some VMs where the hostname isn`t set or just the vm was created but no OS was installed yet. But I have some hosts where the Host attribute is set correctly only Host name is in this "undef_XXX" style. Can anyone help to identify this hosts?

I'll second that question. I've been too busy to do anything about it yet, but it has become rather annoying. I've been clearing the Alerts as the objects seem to get correctly created anyway, but it would be nice to have some more accurate way to track what actually happened.

Just to add that this alert can be posted when no new changes (e.g. adding/removing new VMs via VI Client) are being picked up by the VMware agent DCPs in CC Console...

Hi Andreas/Allen,

What build of the VMware Agent are you both running? I'm suspecting 6.0.x as it seems that this issue was fixed in 6.1.

I'm running 6.1.0.0.119, so it doesn't appear to be fixed just yet.

Can you elaborate on your other point of when this might occur?

Allen,

I'd seem a previous Engineering ticket at 6.0 for a similar issue.

I suspect you're in Service Request territory with this one as the VMware Agent (EGV) logs will need to be looked at by Support.
