ECC6 consolidation

We presently have multiple ECC instances that need to be consolidated or collapsed amongst multiple small datacenters. All need to be upgraded to 6. They are all within 100 miles from each other.

Can I just simply place store VMs only in the peripheral datacenters and possilby push this information to the core infrastructure datacenter? It seems more practical in regards to HW, energy and future datacenter consolidation.

What are the limitations with the ECC6 infrastructure designs? latency? server resources? licensing?
