ECC v6 and Windows 2008

we have ECC v6, but we can not launch master agnet over Windows 2008.

Does Master Agent v (6.0.0.0.33) support Windows 2008?

Hi,

Windows 2008 is not supported for Master agent and other Control center agent. Please refer the support matrix available on a powerlink.

Hi,

In addition to my last update CC 6.0 master and Host agents on Windows 2008 (Longhorn Server) is under development with engineering. I'll post an update as soon as hotfix is released.

You may want to consider upgrading to ECC 6.1 (depending on the rest of you environment). It was built with Support for Win2k8 right from the start.

Hi,

As of ControlCenter 6.1 GA on July 17, Master and Host Agents only are supported on Windows 2008 servers. Please note the following limitation with the Host Agent as of page 27 of the 6.1 Release Notes:

Windows 2008 host agent issue with Event log description (Issue Tracker ECC420950)

With Windows 2008, the Event log descriptions for the Event IDs relating to the Security log are incorrect. This is due to change in the structure of Windows Event logging in Windows Server 2008. The current Windows Event logging APIs are no longer available/supported in Windows Server 2008.

Please see the official Support Matrix and Release Notes on Powerlink for more information.
