ECC Server disaster recovery

hi,
i am looking for any documentation on setting up disaster recovery for our ECC server using SRDF. Can anyone point me in the right direction or give the procedure for this.

note: our ECC server in boot from SAN.

thanks

I'm not sure whether or not there's a written procedure on this, but we have the same running for over 2 years, so I must say it's working ! We have 3 hosts on each side and the remote ones currently boot from local disks and are running various ECC agents, since there's no SAN connectivity between the 2 sites (just SRDF).

Req's:
- Boot from SAN (configure LUN in both HBA's)
- SRDF
- Hosts on the other side need to have boot from SAN set up as well
- You can't run the remote hosts at the same time as your primary one, unless they are booting from other disks or LUN's.

thanks for the reply,

so, when we boot the remote host from SAN, does it get the DNS of the R1 host or do we have to do anything with the .ini file

Trying going to:
support -> software downloads -> downloads C -> controlcenter

Patch 3928 for ECC 6.0

Patch 3322 for ECC 5.2

If you still can't get to it, then call the EMC support centre and request the relevant patch.

The patch contains instructions for ECC DR

We have ECC set up using FQDNS names. The only thing we need to change is the ip addresses when each host is running on the other side, but I guess you could do that with DHCP in combination with a smart DNS.
