Hi,

Here is a quick summary:

1) You need to install the Gateway Agent on a ControlCenter host (usually the ControlCenter Server host)

2) During installation you will be asked for the IP address of the framewoek - this is where you will enter the IP of the OpenView host.

3) You need to download and install the Integration Packages on the OpenView host; please see the Release Notes doc which is included with the download - it will give you instructions re OpenView.

4) Finally, you need to setup a management policy in ControlCenter for the framework; then you need to add the applicable alerts to this policy if you want to see the corresponding event on the OpenView.

Please download the ControlCenter Planning & Installation Guide and the ControlCenter Integration Packages Guide from Powerlink if you require more detailed information.

Thanks,

Seamus

Hello Thanks for your response and sorry for delayed response from myside,

Ok as we have HP OVO i wanted to do passive integration which i think is ok with HP OVO

So i installed the integration agent on the ECC server but the HP OVO ADMIN says he cannot see anything. i can see in my events.xml file that the traps were sent i dont know where is problem is.

Can that be ports issue by default it takes port 162 but i also have FCC agent installed on the same eccserver which as much as i know uses the same port 162.

Can that be the reason, am confused about this port 162 is that port 162 on ecc server or on the frame side that it should be free.

Can you put some knowledge about port 162 and 1273 i went through docs but still confused because i have FCC and NAS agents on same Ecc server.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Yes, it be a port related issue. The UDP port number 1273 which is referenced in the CNG.ini is the port which the Gateway Agent uses for listening to SNMP GET requests.  SNMP traps are usually sent via port 162.

To be honest, I think it would be best if you opened a SR as someone from Support will need to have a look at your environment via WebEx.  I suspect a small port change may be required in the CNG.ini file...

Hi,

The Integration Gateway uses registered port 1273 by default. This can be manually

changed in the CNG.ini file by modifying the following line:

udp_port_number = 1273
