ECC changes not being updated.

I mapped some devices using command line and the changes are not reflected on ECC. I had mapped a few devices using CLI and after some time I was trying to unmap them using ECC and I did not see devices on the FA's that I mapped. I checked if they were actually there using CLI and there were mapped.

Is there a way to refresh the repository host with the changes manually?

Where do we change this setting to have ECC refresh every 2 hours?

Thanks.

Yes, that would probably be having an effect. I'm not sure if the Symm agent forces a symcfg discover when is does a config change DCP, but I suspect your delay has something to do with the timing of updates to Solutions Enabler on the host that has the Symm agent that is primary for the array. You can probably confirm this by forcing a discover on the host with the primary agent next time you perform some mapping and see if you get better results.

AFAIK there's no way to change this refrash rate, but all I know it doesn't take 2 hours.... does it ?

I mapped devices yesterday at 4:00 PM and looked in ECC at about 10:00PM and I did not see the mapped devices then. Now I can see them though. Is there a reason why?

I guess the first question I would ask is this?

Did you issue the CLI commands on the same host where you have installed the Symm and SDM agents for monitoring that Symm? If not, you could possibly speed up the updates in ECC by running a "symcfg discover" at the CLI on the host with the Symm and SDM agents.

Also, check the timing of the DCP "Configuration_XX" under Storage Agent for Symmetrix. Make sure it is enabled (probably is or you should never see changes) and that the schedule on the actions tab is set to something reasonable. I think the default is 15 minutes, but I had to change mine to 30 minutes due to the size of the arrays.

We have Symm and SDM agents on the host I ran SYMCLI commands from.

From the agents view I see that these agents are not the primary ones for this SYMM. Does this have an impact? We have 4 ECC servers per site.

Configuration_00 is set to 30 minutes for our environment also.
