ECC alert keeping appearing on console
Hi,
Iam getting this error(keep appearing) for both Windows and Linux hosts in the console daily. We are using ECC6.0
MNRESN107W No HBAs discovered for this host.
Host may not have HBAs installed or the HBA driver(s) may not be supported.
I opened a case with EMC support. He is recommending me to stop the generic agent alert(uncheck the warning).
Is this the solution? or any patches available to get rid of this alert?
Can any body please assist me.
Thanks,
Bannu.

As the Support Engineer pointed out, you may need to uncheck the Warning box for this alert in order to prevent these messages from appearing in the Console.
Please reference emc199283 for more details.

Do the hosts actually have HBAs installed? Has the latest Host Agent for Windows/Linux patches been applied?
Disabling the Generic alert will prevent this alert and all other alerts in this category from being posted in CC Console.
Please see Knowledgebase article emc174791.

All the hosts having HBAs installed, they are showing in ECC.I dont know what is the latest patches, but our ECC version is 6.0.0.0.538
Host agent is 6.0.0.0.519
Master Agent is 6.0.0.0.33
Are there any new patches which will prevent this?Do I need to patch.
Can you please assist me.
Thanks,
Bannu.

I opened a SR already, but he is saying that we need to disable that warning in the alert management. Is that the solution?
Thanks,
Bannu.

Your patch levels are pretty high. The latest Host Agent is 6.0.0.0.678, Patch 4533, but I don't think that will make any difference.
It's best now to let Support continue working the open SR so that a satisfactory outcome can be reached for the issue.

Even though the hosts are discovered, do you actually see the HBA's discovered for the host in ECC?
The first thing I think of when I see this error is that the SNIA Compliant libraries for your HBA is not installed. What Model HBA is installed on the hosts that you are getting the error on?
