We're getting a few DMX4's, so we have to. ECC5.2 does not support DMX4.
And besides that: we like the new storage scope and the new VMware integration with agents inside ECC itself.

You're right!!

EMC at this stage should already had a service pack for 6.0.

I don't why there taking so long to do it!

I think I've seen it anounced somewhere, but I forgot where. I don't exactly know when SP1 will come out, but I think it's going to be in the end of Q1.

Don't get me started on 6.0 - I think we have served as a Beta site for half of the patches out for ECC. We installed in November with the latest patches and identified at least 3 major functional issues and half-dozen another minor problems.

What is really frustrating is that we needed to use a few hot-fixes not available to the general public (i.e. on PowerLink) to fix some of the issues and still have some basic day-to-day operational issues such as a problem with releasing locks when assigning devices to FAs, etc.

We too have some new DMX-4 units which is the same reason we went with the upgrade.

If you hear a date on the SP please share...

We have 6.0 running since september or so on 2 DMX3's and I must say that we didn't have any serious issues so far. Some of the patches do sound familiar, but we didn't feel like we need the patches so far....
Our DMX4 site will get an isolated ECC6 environment and we're not running ECC6 there just yet and I think we'll start using it with SP1 or at least all patches installed.
