ECC 5.2 to SP5 Upgrade - Clariion Cx3-80 Discovery

I am going to start upgrading the control center to version 5.2 SP5 from its current version SP3. I currently have two new Clariions to manage and they are not supported in SP3. When I install SP5 do I need to add an additional Clariion Agent for the Cx3-80's or just install the latest NAVI-CLI on the existing hosts and then upgrade the agent on those?

I believe that should do the trick. You will need to do the manual discover of the Clariions just like you did the first and then the same host should manage them.

Depending on the size/number of Clariions you may need to deploy another Clariion agent to handle the chatter (especially if you have WLA and a lot of alerts) but my guess is unless you have a lot of older Clariions you should be fine.

With the CX3 you should actually be able to do more management with the Clariion agent - we have CX500s in our environment and the Clariion agent really just lets us do some very basic control and reporting only.

I think you are suggesting that you have a Clariion agent installed pointing at some older Clariion units?

As long as the NAVI-CLI version is compatible you should be able to leverage the single Clariion agent to manage both the old and new units.

Great... So first need to check the newer agent to see if it can manage the older Clariions the oldest we we have would be a cx300. And if that checks, do I just unistall the navi-agent and reinstall and thats it?
