Discover EMC EDL4206 in ECC 6.1

Hi,

Can someone point me in the right direction regarding EMC EDL discovery in ECC 6.1?

I couldn't find any appropriate documentation in powerlink for the configuration except that articles emc229974 & emc144558.

did anyone discover the EDL in ECC successfully?

We have ECC 6.1 UB 5

EDL:

Server Version:
  EMC Corporation Disk Library Server v3.2 (Build 1811.0.02)

Console Version:
  EMC Corporation Disk Library Console v3.2 (Build 1811)

Have you tried to discover it through the SMI-S Assisted Discovery? From what I can see this is the only way to discover it.

Or are you having problems with the Assisted Discovery?

Yes. I opened a case with EMC and was able to discover partially. VTLA is discovered but not VTLB as the port 5989 is not listening.

But, how to setup alerts for the EDL? i dont see any EDL Category for it within alerts administration.

Since you are discovering this through SMI, this would fall under the "Storage Agent for SMI" category. Unfortunately you won't see any specific alerts for devices discovered this way (since it could be almost anything). I'm not sure what your best bet is for alert monitoring of this box... at least until it is supported natively (non SMI-S) in ControlCenter.
