Copying Old Configuration of ECC 5.2sp4 to new ECC 6.0

hi All

I have old ECC 5.2 Sp4 connected to DMX800 that is not available any more , I make new machine with new ECC 6.0 I connect it to the new DMX 4 , and old DMX 800 now there was two BCV devices groups and some configuration on old ECC 5.2 , I remove The ECC 5.2 , there is no way to take The configuration of old ECC to new ECC 6.0 ??

Mohammad,

As per the other thread that you have open, device groups are host specific. The previous device groups on the old host will not be available under the new host.

Hi Mohammad,

The only way to preserve the previous ControlCenter configuration is if you upgraded to 6.0 from 5.2 SP4 as opposed to doing a fresh install. It sounds like you did a fresh install of 6.0...

in case I did not backup the database , does the old BCV on DMX 800 peer with STD will stay same or it will lost ??

yes fresh Install , there is no way to take some files or database and try to make something like it similar or make restore to new ECC

Hi Mohammad,

The backend configuration of the DMX800 will appear the same in CC 5.2 SP4 Console and 6.0 Console. The only difference might be if you had customised labels for devices in 5.2 SP4 - these cannot be exported and re-imported into 6.0.
