ControlCenter 6.1 Install Issues

We are trying to install ECC 6.1, this is a fresh install not an upgrade.  We have downloaded the 4 iso's from Powerlink.  We have tried copying the contents of all 4 disk to a shared drive to try the install from the shared location and we have tried using each iso for the install.  However we keep getting the same error message no matter which install method we try, "Catastrophic failure".  We have downloaded the ISOs 3 times just to make sure it wasn't a bad iso.

Any ideas?

The error message states Feature Transfer error

Feature: ECC Server

Component:

FIle:

Error: Catastrophic failure

It appears to occur when it gets to data4.cab.

We have found the following Primus emc179087, it talks about this issue during an upgrade but we are seeing the same issue with a clean install.  And we have tried several install locations for network install and Control Center media.

Thanks.

I will give that a try, we are using MagicISO to mount the ISOs.  I will give that a try to see if it is MagicISO causing the issues.

Same issue.  When i mount Disk3 when it ask for it, same error.  I've asked Software Refresh to send me the media for Control Center.  I don't know what else to try with the ISOs.

I haven't even installed Anti-Virus on this server yet.  I have also stopped the DTC service, Terminal Services is disabled, and I even disabled the SMC which is running on the box.  Nothing else is running on this box

MagicDisk/ISO worked for me on a recent 6.1 install last week.

Perhaps if you burned the ISO image to a CD/DVD just to rule out a bad file issue.

I wish I could.  These are HP blades that are not onsite where I'm at.  I'm using the HP ILO to access the server and I don't have a CD/DVD drive attached to this chassis.  I might have to send one down there to attach to this blade to try it that way.

In re-reading your post, I see you already copied the ISO to a shared location, so that would seem to rule out bad files/media.

Perhaps it's the specific component you are installing. Can you trim back to basic Server and leave off StorageScope or Perf Manager etc? Then go back in a 2nd time to add those things.

Hi

I have just installed an ECC (distributed) infrastructure from scratch using ISO downloaded from powerlink.  I creaded a media repository and followed the process to populate it with the contents of the 4 ISOs.  Next, I shared the repository out and mounted it as a drive letter.  After that I began the install.  I have used this same repository to install all of the infrastructure VMs, Repository, STS, Stores etc ... I have encountered no issues.  You could consider using a media repository.  Another thought - could the ISOs have been downloaded using the wrong FTP mode ? binary / text /... resulting in corrupt ISO ?

Hope this helps, Regards, Peter
