Clariion Alerts not being detected

Hello,

we have a problem with Clariion Alerts not being reported in ECC.
- ECC 6.0, Server Version 6.0.0.0.650
- Clariion Agents 6.0.0.0.589 / NaviCLI 6.24.00.06.13
4x CX700 with FLARE 19

There is a Firewall between the Clariion Agent and the Clariions, but Port 6389 is open in both directions.
I can discover the Clariions without any problems, and can see all information about them.
But if something breaks (e.g. Disk Fault), I do not get any Alert in Control Center
Call Home via ESRS works fine.
In Alert Management, under Storage Agent for Clariion, the DiskFault_00 is enabled, and applies to the Clariion objects. Under the Conditions tab, Warning is marked. Schedule is Hour_01.

Solution Enabler is also a requirement to install the Clariion Agent. I have 6.5.3.0
Does SE require any other firewall ports to be opened so it can communicate with the Clariions?

I have already tried removing all Clariions from the repository, deinstalling / reinstalling Clariion Agents, then performing a new Discovery. The Clariions were discovered, but no Alerts.

Any ideas?

Thanks and regards,
Stephen

For situations where there are no alerts but the array does discover I suggest checking the CLARiiONs in the properties view for the last discovered date.  At one time there was an issue where CLARiiON arrays would discover initially but would consistently fail the nightly discovery, so the last discovered date would be the initial discover not the current date.  That issue should have been resolved so if this is your issue I suggest upgrading to the latest agent version.

In regards to just one alert failing I suggest verifying the alert is enabled for all arrays and that it is set to 'send to alerts view' as Brian originally suggested.  It is extremely odd for only a single alert to have an issue.  If this is an issue that has happened more than once or is reproducible I would suggest collecting CLARiiON agent, server, and store logs for review and open a SR.  If there are any other specifics we can provide please let us know.

Hello Stephen,

Under the Disk Fault Alert Definition, Conditions tab, is the Send To Alerts View checkbox selected?

Hi Brian,

yes, for the "Warning" message the "Send to Alerts View" is checked.

Thanks and regards,
Stephen

I'm having the same problem with 6.1 UB 7 even after installing the latest CLARiiON Agent patch (4716 - v6.1.0.7.279). Had a drive failure but no alert. I did receive an alert that my HS transitioned to "Rebuilding" and to "Enabled" but nothing on the drive that failed.

Any update or solution?

Clariion alerts default to 1 hour. If your disk issue was resolved within that hour., before the agent checks for it then it is possible you will not see the alert in ecc. This usually is not the case, but I have seen this happen. If this is not the case and the alert is being sent to ECC console, per Paul's reply then I would open a Service request

Thanks
