Clariion agent on ECC 6 send SPS Battery Test Alerts

Hello,

I've ECC 6 with clarion agent with patch 4262. every week-end our Clariions are performing SPS battery tests. when these tests are performed, ECC receive alerts. normaly we shouldn't have alerts for these tests, especially with the patch 4262 which is supposed to correct this behavior. I've set the following entry in the MGL.ini file:

Disable SPSBatteryTest Alerts = true

someone has any idea?

many thanks

E.

Hi,

The set of alerts generated and the order in which they are generated for all the flare versions are identified. Below is the set in the order the alerts are received:

event code Description
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
2167 SPS state changed to testing.
2153 PPS state changed to failed
2207 Enclosure state changed to faulted.
2166 SPS state changed to not ready
2161 SPS state changed to operational
2151 PPS state changed to operational
2206 Enclosure state changed to normal

The first alert received during SPS battery test is "2167- SPS state changed to testing" and the last alert is "2206 - Enclosure state changed to normal". The SPS test alerts are blocked and unblocked based on 2167 and 2206 event code respectively.

The SPS test alert set and the order remains same for all the flares. This set of alerts are blocked for each SPS test.

However there are two issues which are explained below:

1. Some times few alerts in the set are generated more than once. The repeated alerts are getting generated after the last alert "2206 Enclosure state changed to normal". Hence these alerts are not blocked. Different Flare version will generate different set of the repeated alerts and also the number of times the alert getting generated differs. So it is difficult to differentiate between the real alerts and SPS battery test alert if the alerts are generated more than once.

2. Some times some alerts in the set are received after the last alert from the SE. In this scenario it becomes difficult to differentiate between the real alerts and SPS battery test alert. So all the alerts generated after the last alerts are not blocked.

The scenario explained below might have one of the above two issues.
This is mentioned in release notes for patch#4262, sometime you will get duplicate alerts which is very difficultt to differentiate from real alert so you just need to ignore them.

Did you make sure that after you edited the ini file you restarted the agent so it can read the new ini file ?
