Cisco Switch Discovery Issue
I have a issue discovering data for performance manager viewing a IBM SO account that I am assigned to.
We are using ECC 6.1.0 UB 12.
Cisco code level is
The problem we are having is that ECC cannot use SMNP (any version) to discover our Cisco switches because we use TACACS+ to authenicate/login to the switches. Current ECC does not support use of the SMI provider for CISCO switches. ECC's replacement Prosphere has a late 2013 (tentative) date to provide this functionality,
Since the EMC Control Center FCC Agent will send SNMPv3 Requests directly to the switch (as if there’s a local SNMPv3 User on the switch), if TACACS+ is integrated at the Cisco switch and it’s sufficient to simply supply the switch with credentials as if the user we’re going to use for discovery were a local switch account, then I think it’d work.
However, if the FCC Agent needs to go to a TACACS+ server and basically “Proxy” into the switches from there, then I’d say it wouldn’t, since there is no intelligence built into the FCC Agent to integrate with TACTACS+.
What we need to know is if anyone in this community has found the same problem and if a work around is available or is there a tool/utility that can be used to provide the same amount of granular data to view as Perfromance Manager does.

Hi Ed,
Just to confirm from our side that ControlCenter does not support TACACS+ in any version.
Let's see if someone in the community has successfully deployed any workaround.
