Changing the unique descriptor for ECC alerts
Can the unique descriptor for ECC alerts be modified?
When creating a new alert from the alert templates no means for changing the unique descriptor is presented. Rather than have a number that is automatically incremented by '1' by ECC when creating a new alert I would like to use a descriptor of my choosing that more easily identifies the environment for which the alert applies.
Thanks.

I have just tested this here in my lab - it seems that one can only apply a custom Unique Descriptor for a DCP but not for an Alert. As you said, new alerts are always incremented e.g. _01, _02 etc. DCPs, on the other hand, can be given any custom descriptor.
I guess this feature is just not available for new Alerts (unless somebody else out there has seen otherwise). It might be worth submitting an enhancement request to ControlCenter Product Management via Powerlink.
