changing password used for CLARiiON discovery

I need to change the password used to discover the CLARiiONs. I have over 30 arrays to work with. I am looking to see if there is a method of doing this without deleting and recreating the assisted discoveries for each array.

You should be able to go in to assisted discovery and enter your new information but you don't need to delete anything. As long as the same IP addresses are used and the same array is discovered it will just replace the username/password information with the new stuff.

The same problem exists for ESX discoveries except I only have 15 or so clariion arrays with less password management requirements and a few hundred ESX servers with an account that is supposed to have a 30 day password life.

The problem is similar in database discovery but there is a utility called "accessinfo" that can be used to update the password used to discover databases. It is still a ridiculous pain to use as you are supposed to not only stop the oracle agents but also the entire infrastructure!

Ouch, who thinks these are good ideas?

Anyway, the short answer is unfortunately there is no supported way to efficiently change the password information used to discover all of your clariion arrays. :-(

Thanks,

I was afraid that no has come up with a better method. I am also in the process of discovering the ESX systems in house and was also afraid that would be an issue there as well.
