Change ECC server in CTG.INI

I have to split and ECC 5.2 environment into 4 seperate instances due to environement size. I need to determine a process to automate the modification of the ctg.ini to point ot the new instance. Has anyone been able to script the modicifation of this file from a comand line?

thanks

Are you trying to create 4 seperate ECC instances or add 4 stores into the environment? Adding stores (I believe) is a fairly well documented process.

If you are splitting into 4 totally different installations what size of environment are you talking about that would require you to do that?

Assuming you are talking about changing the ctg.ini file on all of the clients in particular? You would also need to change the master.ini file.

My only suggestion is that you could modify the files you need to change (ctg.ini/master.ini for certain) and push these to similar hosts via some kind of copy process. You'd have one set for your Linux hosts, UNIX hosts, etc.

Sorry I don't have anything more clever to help with this.

Currently there are 3 instances of ECC across several data centers. The largest of which is > 3000 hosts, 120 arrays and > 21000 switch ports. Way more than any instance should be. I am attempting to assist the customer in splitting the environments into smaller Data Center based instances that bring them into better compliance.
