Can FLR use the Storage Scope Database
Hi,
Can FLR use the StorageScope database to store information or do you have to use a separate db instance.
Thanks in advance

I assume that you're referring to the standalone product StorageScope FLR as opposed to FLR Archiver (CC 6.0, 6.1) which is a process that receives file and folder level data from host agents and then loads that file and folder level data into the StorageScope Repository.
Anyway, if you are referring to StorageScope FLR, then there isn't any way to migrate the data into the CC StorageScope 6.x repository - I have seen a discussion re same on internal CC mailing lists. There seems to be quite a bit of complexity involved re how FLR renders data and how data this could be migrated into a STS repository.
Let me know if you need further info or if I've totally misinterpreted your question...

I am working with an ECC 6.0 installation.
I am having trouble finding the latest version of the stand alone FLR product. We just received ECC 6.1 CD's that we are going to put in our lab environment, and it was not included from what I can tell.
The reason I am asking is that the FLR instance that we currently have has become corrupted. I am trying to determine the best DB to use for rebuilding the application and attempting to find the latest version of the FLR product.

The ECC 6.x FLR Agent is not a separate CD or installable. If StorageScope is installed it is there. It is only activated once the File Level Reporting DCP has been enabled within the Host Agent DCPs.

Goal
How do I get Service Pack 1 for StorageScope FLR 1.8.0?
What issues are fixed by Service Pack 1 for StorageScope FLR 1.8.0?
Fact
EMC SW: StorageScope FLR 1.8.0
Symptoms
File scans fail for one or more NAS servers
File scan on a NAS file system that resides on a particular Data Mover incorrectly indicates that the file system is on different Data Mover
File scan on a NAS file system indicates incorrect Data Mover for the file system
FLR Event Log does not show the latest Events
No CIFS resources shown in VisualSRM reports
The NAS scans % of total does not add up to 100% as they do in the file scans. Getting an incorrect data display for the values
Cluster Disks and Resources are not available for scanning in VisualSRM Cluster
Incorrect utilization percentages for Database table spaces in FLR 1.8
Fix
Service Pack 1 for StorageScope FLR 1.8.0 updates the EMC StorageScope FLR images for the FLR server, Agent and Console to the latest build and resolves the symptoms described in this solution. Service Pack 1 for StorageScope FLR 1.8.0 is available from Powerlink at the following location:
Support > Software Downloads and Licensing > Downloads S-Z > StorageScope File Level Reporter (FLR)

Looking at the software download section of powerlink, StorageScope FLR is not listed for my account to download. I have emailed software@emc.com as well trying to find v1.8 of FLR.

What actually changes the DCP collection from the host?
Does it see that the STS FLR license is installed or is the FLR DCP for the host enabled by default w/o a license for STS FLR?
If so what are the performance impacts of gathering data which can't be utilized due to licensing?
We currently don't have the FLR STS lic does this mean though that we have this data being collected through the ETL process.
What are the differences in the DCP modifications on the host side for FLR Archiver vs. STS FLR license?
