Can Control Center take advantage of a 64 bit architecture?

Hello all,

We're planning a fresh install of Control Center and we're looking at the different operating systems that are supported.  It seems that Windows 2008 R2 SP2 is not a supported os for it and as that is the only version of Win2k8 that our server team supports we're back to Windows 2003.  I'm wondering if Control Center for 64 bit Win2K3 SP2 R2 is actually written as a 64bit app or is it still a 32 bit app?  Is there any benefit to putting a new install of Control Center on a 64bit os?

I understand that the new version of Prosphere is coming out very soon and we're planning for that as well but we're looking for a new install of Control Center to use until we've proven out Prosphere.

Thanks in advance for any advice you have to offer!

Tim

Hi Tim,

Whether you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit OS, there is no difference in ControlCenter performance - it is a 32-bit application regardless of OS.

However, since the 64 bit OS allows the use of more than 4 GB of memory, it may be beneficial in some single infrastructure environments, depending on what components or other software is installed.

1.5 is the next version of ProSphere and it is due to be released at the end of Feb.
