Anybody knows if ECC 6.1U8 supports "Mutual Authentication for Client" feature on Brocade SMI-S Agent?

Hi,

I could not find any refrence of support for this feature of mutual authentication for client on the Brocade SMI Agent within the 6.1 Support Matrix.

From the Ionix ControlCenter® 6.1 PLANNING AND INSTALLATION GUIDE on Powerlink

Within the section Installing the Brocade SMI agent for ControlCenter under "Step 28 Plan for Brocade switch discovery"

It does recomends to select NO for mutual authentication for client at installation (page 132)

.......

12. Enable mutual authentication for client. (No)
13. Enable mutual authentication for indications.(No)
14. Import the client certificate for mutual authentication. Select
Next.
15. Importing the client certificate for mutual authentication for
indications. Select Next.
16. Export the server certificate for mutual authentication. Select
Next.
17. Export the server certificate for mutual authentication for
indications. Select Next.
18. Enable security. Select No if no security, or Yes for Windows
security. Consult the Brocade documentation and ”Brocade
Configuration notes” on page 141 for details.

.......

From the above information I do not think this feature is supported with ControlCenter 6.1 for Brocade switch discovery.

As its not currently supported you should highlight this on the ControlCenter Community site as this is used for ControlCenter roadmap discussions

Start a discussion on the ControlCenter Community site. This is monitored by Production Management and different ControlCenter engineering teams and you should get a fast respond to the discussions on whether this feature will be included in a future update bundle or release of ControlCenter / SRM.

ControlCenter Community site https://community.emc.com/community/connect/ccwelcome

1. Become a member by following the steps on the bottom right corner of the page

2. When you get your login details press the Green Enter button and login to the site.

3. Then start a new discussion with your enhancement idea's (A discussion can be started by clicking on "start a discussion" under the Actions Tab on the left hand side of the page"

Information/purpose of the above site:

"We are listening to community discussions and making recommendations for future changes to the product and how we build it.  However, there may come a time when subjects discussed in the community represent areas of exploration that may or may not become a committed roadmap item.  Committed roadmap items will be appropriately identified as such, so we continue to build an atmosphere of trust and clearly communicate our intentions"
