authentication messages on smarts

Question

we have Active directory services running on windows and unix  and also have TACACS/RADIUS we want to see when someone authenticates and when there is a failure on the Global  console

You could pipe the syslog from both servers/services into Smarts, and that might pick it up.  Alternatively, you could pipe them into a syslog analysis program like Splunk, and configure Splunk to execute an action (e.g. send a trap) into Smarts upon auth failure.
