Alias and port names not showing from Brocade switches
Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. We have a brand new installation of ControlCenter 6.1 in our environment and, after discovering our Brocade fabrics via the SMI-S tool, we can see zonesets, switches etc in ECC but not zone aliases or port names (port numbers are available, but not the custom names we have provided which show up in other tools such as DCFM and on the switch locally).
Thanks in advance,
Tim

Hi Tim,
I believe aliases should be imported when you discover a Brocade fabric. However, please note that the activation of a zoneset from ControlCenter on Brocade switches causes alias names to be removed from the zones. This is documented in the latest 6.1 Support Matrix (REV A29).

AFAIK (As far as I know) only wwpns, zones and switchnames are actually imported. I've been struggeling with this since 4 years ago and since we not only manage the SAN with ECC, but also on the commandline, we decided not to use ECC for this reason. We like our aliases !
