Alerts on Control Center

Hello All,

I have a symm box with 96GB Cache. Hits, Writes/Sec & Read/Sec are very high on that box. And there are lot of sev2 alerts in Control Center for the same. How to read into this alerts. Is it the Cache that is an issue on this box.

I guess its over loaded.

Thanks

Can you please share numbers ??? Can you tell us Hit , R/sec and W/sec values ?? Talking about performances is already difficult when we have numbers .. but without numbers it's almost impossible :D

If you prefer to talk with ECC people, this thread can be moved at the right place. Simply ask...

Here are the stats.

KB/Sec Written is 332334.520996
Hits/Sec is 8354.26307
throughput is 148199.425612 KB/sec
KB/sec read is 413051.681034

And in addition to this Hit percent on some of the DFs is 0%.

I guess its overloaded, but not sure if it interms of Cache?

Hi Ajay,

The numbers that you are seeing are environment specific - it is impossible to tell at this point whether there is an actual issue with a) cache on the Symm and/or b) that ControlCenter is reporting erroneous figures.

I strongly recommend that you open a Service Request with the Support Center - then a Symmetrix performance specialist can do a full 'health check' on the Symm and a ControlCenter Engineer can investigate those alerts for you. It could be an issue with the ControlCenter build that you are running but that's just a guess at this point...
