XPS 15 32g and upgrade

I am looking to upgrade the original 32g sad on my XPS 15 (L521X). How big of a drive can I install? Or is it just better to install a new 2.5" sad as my main drive and forget about upgrading the 32g?

These are mSATA drives - not M.2 (the two are totally incompatible despite the similar designations).  Most mSATA drives are 512G and under -- you should be able to use a 512, but yes - you're better off with a 2.5" SSD to replace the hard drive.  They're less expensive than mSATA and mostly 6G in performance - whereas the mSATA port is limited to half that (3G).
