Windows 10 Recovery usb

I am using a 16 GB usb device to generate a Windows 10 Pro recovery disc.

I am seeking information regarding updating this device with the most recent ops sys updates.

1. Can I update this disc? 

2. Can I make a new version without erasing the old files first?

3. Is there a recommended frequency for these updates? The reason for this last question is, I just completed a       recovery of an Inspiron 3470 where the recovery media was generated in December of 2018. It has been a very time consuming process installing all of the Microsoft updates generated from 2018 until today.

Any help with this would be appreciated.
