Will not copy a DVD-R with Dell provided Sonic software on my Inspiron 6000
I am trying to copy a DVD-R. The Sonic software that came with my Dell Inspiron 6000 has a copy function. Using that function it reads it fine, but when it goes into the write stage, the software asks me to insert a DVD-R disc (it will reject a DVD+R or DVD+RW disc). The Dell Owners Manual states that the DVD recorder that came with my computer ONLY writes to DVD+R or DVD+RW.
I spoke with Dell tech support and Dell confirmed that the DVD drive only will write a DVD+R/RW disc. I was also told that the Dell provided Sonic software will read the DVD-R disc and write a DVD+R disc and that there must be an option in the Sonic program that permits this to be done. I could NOT find such an option in the Sonic program. The tech told me Dell software people would assist me and transferred me to Dell's software line. After waiting on hold for over an hour for a person, I hung up.
Can anybody help me? Thank you.
