Who manufactured my hard drive ?

Hello,

I have a dell studio xps 8100 desktop bought in 2010.

Windows 7 home premium,

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 870 @ 2.93GHz,

memory 16 gb,

Display Adapters: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460,
* 1.5TB SERIAL ATA (7200RPM 3.0 Gb/s) 16 MB Cashe. ST31500341AS.
How can I know who is the manufacturer of the Hard Drive ?
any recommendations for an ssd ? how big ?

It's a Seagate ST31500341AS drive.

With SSDs it's generally better to stick to the Big Three manufacturers - Samsung, Intel and Crucial.  You can use any capacity drive you wish.

I like the Crucial MX200 I would advise getting at least a 256 GB SSD. If you want to use Dell Factory settings on the SSD see here:
