What do I load first to boot a brand new HDD ?

Hi, I have a Dell XPS 8500, not had any problems with it at all, but I bought it in France & now I'm back in England I want to convert it to English.

To this end I have purchased a new qwerty keyboard.....but found that Windows (7) cannot be changed (rather unbelievably) to English.

I have decided to install a UK version of Windows 7, so I got a new HDD for this so I can keep all my old files & pics etc on the old HDD.

(The old HDD will be removed & housed in an external enclosure for occasional access to files & so forth.)

With the Dell I got a disc (DVD) labeled " Drivers and Utilities" ....so my question is should I install whatever is on that before or after Windows 7 (which I have on a DVD) ?

Sorry but you have missed my point, I don't have the disc in the vid, I have a disc titled "Drivers & Utilities" which is a Dell XPS 8500 DVD, that came with the PC and a Windows 7 DVD I bought off ebay,

the last thing I want is to reinstall windows 7 in French, which doesn't look like it would be on the Dell DVD anyway ( anyone know about this ?).

Windows needs to be installed first.  Insert the Windows disc in the system and reboot - press F12 and boot the system from it.  Install Windows from there.

While that's being installed, use another system to download these drivers from support.dell.com:

1. The chipset driver

2.  The network driver.

Copy those to a flash drive and install them.  Then go online, patch Windows fully (this will take quite some time, since Windows 7 is relatively old).

Then go online and install the audio, video, etc. drivers.

Cheers, this make a lot more sense, will the drivers needed be on the Dell disc that came with the computer labeled " Drivers and Utilities" ?

It would be easier than trying to find online drivers if it is ?

Given that the disc is years old, you're better off downloading current drivers and using those.
