TB16 limitations ?

I have a TB16 connected to a Precision p5530 laptop.

I have problems with connected USB devices, some obvious, some more fuzzy...

Obvious ones: I have an external USB2 audio device (NAD digital amp): when connected to the TB16, sound is terribly stuttering; when connected directly to the P5530: no problem...I have the latest driver from the manufacturer (dated 03/2018 I believe). Is this "normal" ?

More fuzzy: I use a USB mouse & keyboard; the mouse cursor exhibits very frequent sub-second 'pauses' making some types of work very uncomfortable. I haven't tested the mouse connected directly on the computer yet.

The TB16 has several downstream devices connected to it, some with heavy bandwidth requirements like USB3 disks, 2 full HD monitors, 1 Thunderbolt2 I/O device, Gbit ethernet...obviously at some point they may compete for the available bandwith of the Thunderbolt3 link of the TB16. Is there a utility to monitor bandwith utilization of the TB16 Thunderbolt link and/or its attached devices ?

The Dell Thunderbolt Dock (TB16) is a device that links all your electronic devices to your laptop computer using Thunderbolt™ 3 (Type-C) cable interface. When you connect the laptop to the docking station, you can gain access to all your peripherals such as the mouse, keyboard, stereo speakers, external hard drive, and large-screen displays without having to plug each one into the laptop.
