T610 Raid Hdd are getting full
hello,
i just have a simple question my drives are getting full i bought 2 new hdd from dell the server has has raid hot swappable drive. can i just pull one out and and replace with new larger drive?

No, you cannot. The drives in the same raid array must be the same size. If you put a larger drive in the array it will still work, but the raid card will coerce it down to the size of the others. For example, if all your drives are 1TB and the new drive is 2TB, the raid card will treat the 2TB drive as a 1TB drive.

thanks for responding. so do i change the my 500Gb to a 2TB raid

also had another thought if i pull one drive and let it configure and then pull the other drive then they will be both the same size. will it know then that they are both 2 TB drives and use the space?
