SSD for Optiplex 780
Hi I have a Dell optiplex 780 which I use perfectly well (thanks Dell) to run my astronomical observatory. One of the observatory processes scans index files and this slow on the standard sata disk. I appreciate the machine is 'older' technology and my question is can I replace the disk with a SSD to increase performance?
If the answe is yes, is there a product which you can signpost me to please? It's a 250GB disk currently. If there is a product which will work with this machine's bios, I guess it will be 2.5" so will need some kind of carrier to fit the chassis.
Please let me know if you need further details of the machine and I'll post.
thanks for help with this.
Paul

Hi - I received a personal message asking for the service tag/ express service code.
My system is 10 years old. Where would I find these please? Are they stamped on the machine somewhere perhaps?
thank you for your help.
