SM Bus Controller & USB2.0-CRW. Drivers not found

Hi

I´m not finding SM Bus Controller & USB2.0-CRW drivers. I have looked everywhere and "update driver software" in Device manager isn´t finding them. So isn´t Dell System detect. Both have exclamation marks and device status are "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."

I´m running Dell Inspiron 5547.

Hi Reedik,

Are you reinstalling Windows or did this error just pop up? What version of Windows?

I´m running Windows 8.1, 64 bit operating system. Those driver errors have been for a longer time and I haven´t had the possibility to get rid of them. I think it started when I reinstalled Windows.

I have one more error. When I but my computer to sleep mode and it isn´t connected to a charger it shuts down 70% of the time. It happens quite fast. All the power options for power button, sleep button and closing the lid are on "sleep"

It's possible you did not install the chipset driver or it did not install correctly. Follow these instructions for help. It's possible this will fix all of your problems.

I don't know if you have a set of recovery discs for reinstalling the Dell factory image, but if you do, I'd suggest using them to reinstall your OS. If you do not, then I'd suggest starting the Windows installation over, and please follow the link below for a guide. There are very specific instructions for the order of installing drivers.

Hi Laurie,

Please run the fixit utility found on this link. That will most likely fix your problem.

Also, I want you to keep in mind that Microsoft has stopped supporting Windows XP. If your PC is very old, it might be time to think about upgrading.

Good luck!
