Reinitialise SSD
Hi, I'd like to reinitialise an SSD that has had a Dell HDD Password set on it. I am not interested in the password or the data, I just want to reinstall the OS, and rebuild the machine. The SSD was originally in a Latitude E5520.
I have tried installing the drive on other machines, but it doesn't seem to be recognised as a disc drive at all.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
Tim

Hi,
If your hard drive have set with password, you need to contact dell and prove the ownership. Otherwise, you need to replace your motherboard because, the password is stored in the flash EEPROM on the motherboard.
So i suggest you to call dell and prove your ownership. Don't think about about replacing mnotherboard, it will be a expensive solution.
