Problems with D3100 Docking Station
I have had a Dell D3100 USB 3 Docking Station for some time now using with my HP laptop with Win10. I updated to this docking station from a Kensington because the Kensington did didn't have HDMI outputs. I am using 2 ViewSonic VX2453 monitors. Since switching to the D3100 monitor 1 has been displaying at the default resolution (1920x1080) with the viewable area less than the desk top. I have to switch that monitor to 1600x1200 to get the desktop to display properly.
As most people I am working remotely using remote desktop. I have to change the resolution back to 1920x1080 in order to be able to use both monitors but I can no longer set remote desktop to automatically utilize both screens. I have to enlarge the remote window to just fit in the display. But then the task bar is off the screen and I can't minimize any windows. I have to return to 1600x1200 in order to see the task bar.
In forums basically the only suggested solution is to update drivers. Windows update says I have the latest driver. I've tried a bit of everything. I am willing to purchase a different dual monitor docking station but I'm not convinced it would help. Suggestions?
