Problem with opening of DVD drive

I have a Dell Studio 540 that is 7 years old. The past couple of months when I press the eject button it tries a couple of times to open but it can't. In order to open it I have to manually open it.

Also from Windows when I right click and try to eject it tries a couple of times and then it says that an error has occurred while ejecting DVD-RW Drive.

If the problem is with the drive I'm going to get a new one this week.
