Precision T7810 - additional hard drive
I am trying to install an additional hard drive (Seagate, 4TB) into a T7810. I've put it into the second hard drive bay, and connected it using the cables already present in the computer.
If I go into the BIOS, I can see the drive, and the port it is connected to is enabled. However, when the computer boots into WIndows 10 the drive is not visible in device manager or in disk management.
Any ideas?
Thanks

If the drive is new, it needs to be partitioned and formatted before Windows will see it. Open the computer management tools and go to the disc administrator to do this.

Cheers, yes I know that - the issue was that it didn't appear in disk management at all, so I couldn't partition it.
I removed the drive completely and put it back in again, and for no apparent reason it then worked - it can't have been a loose connection the first time as the BIOS could see it, so I don't know what the issue was. Seems to be working now anyway.
Cheers
