old laptop hard drive no media
Hi,
I am trying to access data from my old Dell laptop's hard drive. I am using SATA to USB converter to connect to my computer, but, I can't access the drive. It gives me "please insert a disk into USD drive" message. I tried changing the drive letter and updating USB drivers, but, no luck. I tried some software to access the data, but they can't even detect the drive. I know the USB port works fine as my external hard disk connects just fine and I am able to access it. I used 'disk part' and it says the disk has no media. Please help!

I don’t have the laptop with me anymore. I just have the hard drive from the laptop. It’s a seagate momentus 5400.6

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

I'd say that that old hard drive is toast.
