No hardrive detected on (bios not detecting hardrive)

Hi, the bios on my Alienware desktop does not seem to recognize my m.2 boot drive and gives me a no hard drive detected error on startup, the SSD works on an other computer but not on the Alienware. What makes me says it is specifically the bios is that it does not appear in bios but when boot off of a windows installation USB it lets me use it. 

I have tried resetting the bios to defaults with no results.

going through with the windows installation makes it work but only temporarily.

I haven't tried to remove the CMOS battery yet and have not tried with a SATA SSD instead.

Any help would be appreciated.
