New SSD through PCIe for T3500
I have a Dell T3500 workstation, and I am trying to install a new SSD onto the system. I currently have 4 HDDs already, running RAID 10. They take up the 4 SATA ports already, and I want to keep them as they are.
So instead of adding a new SSD to a SATA port, I purchased a Samsung 850 evo M.2 version, and used a M.2 to PCIe adaptor card (as shown in the link below) to connect it to my spare PCIe slot.

However, after connecting it to the PCIe slot, both the BIOS and windows do not detect the new SSD. Is there else I need to do before the new SSD will show up please?

The BIOS isn't going to see (or be able to boot from) that drive - for that you need a very new system (NVMe boot requires UEFI, which means a 2016 model system or newer). This system is BIOS-only - it's not going to be able to boot from an NVMe/PCIe drive.
If you just want to use it as a storage drive, assuming there's a driver for the card you purchased and the operating system you're running, it should function as a storage device -- you'll need to check with the manufacturer of the card for driver support. Remember the drive needs to be partitioned and formatted using the disc manager in order for Windows to see if.

Thanks ejn63 for the prompt reply. However, the SSD I purchased (Samsung 850 evo M.2) is not a NVMe drive. Please see the following link for more info:
www.samsung.com/.../850evo.html
It is a M.2 SATA drive, and it is essentially the same SSD as its 2.5 inch brother. I purchased this format because I have used up my usual SATA ports, and want to connect this through PCIe. (Another reason is that my SATA ports are only SATA 2, so it will be a bottleneck for this SSD)
I have downloaded the SSD driver, except I cannot use it. Because the driver cannot detect the new SSD, nor can I see the SSD in Disc Manager either.

Does the system see the PCIe card (check the device manager)? If it doesn't, check with the card manufacturer to see what they say.

The device manager does not see the PCIe card. The BIOS shows the particular PCIe slot to be "empty" also.
I have tried contacting the card manufacturer, but so far no feedback yet
