New HDD For my Dell INSPIRON N5010 laptop, shall i go for 5400 RPM or 7200 RPM HDD

I bought the DELL N5010 laptop about 4 years back and presently it is out of warranty.
2 days back my harddisk crashed and was not able to boot or install OS as there are bad sectors on the hard disk. I am planning to buy a new hard disk.

Which one shall i go for a 5400 RPM or 7200 RPM. I would like to go for 7200 RPM as it is faster but I read over the internet that 7200 RPM generates more heat then 5400 RPM and my laptop is already facing heating issue. I had replaced the fan about 2 months back as my laptop used to shut itself down due to heat. The heating issue still persists, but laptop doesnt shutdown :)

Anyone using DELL N5010 laptop with a 7200 RPM HDD and it is fine?

Any sort of recommendation will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Sach

Thanks for the recommendation. The Sales man in the shop also recommended the same thing. I have bought Seagate 5200 SSHD(Solid State Hybrid Drives) which is even better than conventional hard disk. :)

As you already have heat issues, don't add to it by installing a 7200prm HD, use the 5400rpm HD. :emotion-5:
