MZ-7PC512D causes computer to freeze when applying pressure
I have a Dell XPS 15 L521X. The computer will freeze when booting or starting up. I have opened up the laptop and found the issue, my SSD. When the SSD is out and unplugged from the laptop, the laptop will start up fine (obviously won't boot, though). However, when the SSD is plugged in, the computer will turn on and if you apply any pressure on the SSD it will freeze the whole computer. Note that the computer will only turn on with the SSD in without the back cover of the laptop on, I assume that's because the back cover applies pressure on the SSD. If I have the back cover on the computer (and the SSD plugged in) and I try to turn it on, all that happens is the keyboard backlight and the power LED on the front light up. The computer is unresponsive (Pressing caps lock does not turn on the caps lock light). What is wrong with my SSD, is it fixable or will I need a new one?

Hi Aimorris,
Thank you for writing to the Dell Community Forum.
Can you please let us know, if the system had fallen down accidentally or did any fall on the system. Also check if the SSD card is connected firmly, please run the diagnostics on the system (To initiate, power on the system while holding down the Fn key), let us know how it goes. You can also test the functionality of the SSD on a different system, applying any pressure on the palmrest make any difference.
Kindly get back if there are any further queries.
