My vostro 2520 lap crashing-PBR Image full

Mine is DEL Vostro 2520 with windows 8.1 system. Sometimes when I open chrome or pdf reader or any folder it shows the message, unfortunately, stopped working. Is the PBR image responsible for the trouble? System in some occasion hangs a lot. Can any help
