Sorry I used tablet at coffee shop on above.
Well I just think the m6600 doesn't have the bios for 2tb. The question is, can it take 1tb HD? I have the latest bios on windows 7vsp1. As I said, I was able to format on external usb hd caddy. I made multiple partitions in NTFS and the fat and although it could be seen in caddy, not when the HD was inside the laptop.

An external drive doesn't access the system BIOS - it's controlled by the drive controller inside the USB enclosure -- the drive is handled internally.

so my bios is such that it does not allow 2tb? this is an internal drive. tiger direct is fixing to rip me off...they said they would send return authorization to email but haven't and time running out to return. maybe they will do an exchange...will my machine see a 1tb internal hd? i saw 2tb advertised for my machine on amazon...what gives?
thanks very much for the answer.
