m17 R1, to AHCI or SATA with Samsung 970 Evo Plus

Seeing confusing information regarding adding a Samsung 970 EVO Plus to my Alienware m17 R1.

I've read that AHCI is a bottleneck vs SATA. When I installed my 970 EVO Plus it works and the benchmark shows it appears to be working as a SATA. But when I launch the Samsung Magician app it says it cannot optimize the drive and to install either a Microsoft or NvME driver. The driver that is being used says it is a 2006 Microsoft Drive.

So the question is, do I go through the process of trying to change the drives to AHCI in bios so the Magician app works to should I just leave it. Would I see any performance increase by switching to AHCI and running the Samsung driver?
