Do you have the PC?
Seems very similar to 3891 https://www.dell.com/community/Inspiron-Desktops/Optical-drive-for-Inspiron-3891/td-p/8145792

I don't have the PC—I'm considering purchasing it. As listed, it doesn't include a CD/DVD drive, but the photograph clearly shows a horizontal slot at the top of the tower that looks like it was designed to accommodate an internal CD/DVD drive.
The link you provided to the Inspiron 3891 was interesting—interesting because Lobster 702 was given the wrong answer by Dell Tech Support. He (or she) finally found an answer here in the "Dell Community."
It's great that people like you volunteer answers, but shouldn't Dell really be able to respond, quickly and accurately, to basic questions like these? Instead of pushing it off onto unpaid enthusiasts?
Also interesting ... the product link takes you to a used Dell CD/DVE drive sold on a third-party site for $12. Dell is still building Towers with slots and wiring to accept an internal CD/DVD drive, but not the drive itself.

I have three Optiplex 3020 SFF with DVD drives but I bought them at least 5 years ago.
It looks like DVD drives are going away even for desktop PCs. I haven't found a need for them in recent years. I have a stack of brand new made-in-Japan DVD-R blanks sitting unused.
These are Dell desktop PCs with CD/DVD drive : https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/desktops-all-in-one-pcs/sr/desktops-n-workstations/tower-147l-or-more?appliedRefinements=33717,29397&sortBy=price-ascending

Clean the mouse
There are thin spaces on either side of the mouse wheel, which dust and dirt can get in over time, causing issues with the wheel's scrolling. Try cleaning the mouse, especially around the wheel, using compressed air.

Dell support tells me there isn't one that's compatible too, but that's untrue. There is a Dell Inspiron 3910 right now at »www.officedepot.com/a/pr ··· l/#Specs with internal DVD RW drive. Is there a way to determine the model or part number of the drive in the PC at that link? Why Dell treats customers this way is beyond me!

@Speculator0 The biggest problem would be finding an optical drive with a matching front panel, as well as possibly the correct power cable connector. Optical drives are considered optional equipment now and are probably only available with a new PC order, so finding the correct part, even used, maybe difficult at an affordable price.
If you plan on occasionally using CDs, you might just want to buy an external optical drive, which will accomplish the same tasks. (CD/DVD reading and writing). This would likely be the cheapest way to go, as the original Dell drive will probably cost you around $80 or so.
If you plan on using the optical drive often, you may want to consider buying a 5.25" external enclosure along with a 5.25" optical drive of your choice. The downside with the 5.25" enclosure is the overall size and dedicated power supply, but in turn, you can install whatever drive you want (Blu-Ray burner for example) and exceed transfer speeds that are limited by design of the slim internal drive.

Dell now sells the bezel for model 3910. If you still need it, you can purchase one directly from Dell. The price is $1.99 plus tax.
