Inspiron 15 3000 Hard drive not found

I have an inspiron 15 3000 that had a hard drive error on the dell system diagnostics. I replaced the hard drive with a samsung 860 evo ssd, but I'm still getting the same error. I've tried reinstalling windows, and booting with linux mint live usb and neither could access the ssd. There's a drive found on the bios, but I suspect that is the CD drive. Any suggestions?
