how to play dvd's

If you have a DVD drive, just insert the DVD disc.  If Autoplay does not
recognize it (depends how you have it set up), then open your DVD Decoder
(PowerDVD or WinDVD) and play it through there.

A dvd drive?  hmmm....  that is something besides the drives D and E?   I guess I can't play it in the same drive that I play my cd's on. hmmm...  dvd decoder?  that is also something extra that I have to get?

To get to the Device Manager ...........

Start | Control Panel | System in classic view | Hardware tab | Device Manager

 

sorry to be so lacking in computer savvy...  the 'device manage'..  now..  where would that be?

Look in the Device Manager and click the (+) next to DVD/CD-ROM drives
and post the Brand and Model of the drives on your system and we will
verify the capabilities.

Neither of tthe drives are capable of playing DVD media.  One is a
CD-ROM and the other a CDRW drive.  You will need a DVD-ROM or a
DVD burner to play DVDs.

Hello...

Can you please explain to me as to how I can play a dvd on my Dell Computer? I have tried playing a cd which works great! I am not too 'puter savvy here so pls make it as easy as possible. Here's what I did to try to play a dvd on here: inserted the dvd into the modem then went to START to MEDIA PLAYER and nothing happened. I also went to CD/DVD heading & still nothing happened. Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I would appreciate it:)
