To remove the password, enter the area where you change the password, enter the existing password and leave the "new password" boxes blank. Save.  That will remove the passwords.

Muhammad Anas Tahseen Asar,

The forgotten password of a Laptop hard drive, cannot be removed by the user.

While Dell can help you remove the password from the BIOS, Dell can't remove a hard drive password.

If you need the data on the hard drive you wish to save, you will need to send the drive out to a data recovery service.

You can find more information in this long thread, here:

http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/disk-drives/f/3534/t/19487397

Regards to the forgotten Administrator's password, see if the following article can help :

http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/422901-windows-8-1-forgotten-admin-password-reset-without-available-disk

If the above does not help, then you would need to reinstall Win 8.1

No, I have the Password both for admin and hard drive but in BIOS there is no option for removing the password. i can change it but the option of removing the password is not showing. Microsoft community says BIOS is not related to windows.

AXLRIGO

When the hard drive is not recognized, in either disk management, system setup and in [my] computer, this usually indicates the USB HD has failed and cannot be accessed.

This AM, had the same thing happen with a WD Passport external HD, tried using it with three different computers, with the same results.

Of cause, it was purchased in 2008.
