firmware for Dell mz7km960hmjp0d3 960gb sata ssd

So i recently bought a pair of secondhand Dell branded enterprise ssd's. They seem to work fine. They have firmware version GD53. Now i always update all of my devices to the latest firmware, and would like to do the same for these ssd's. I've noticed Dell published a new firmware with version number GD57.

However, when i try to install it the software package gives me the error "This update package is not compatible with your system configuration".  I'm running a licensed win10 pro 64bit OS.

Can anyone help me to flash the latest firmware. I already tried samsung dc magician, but that only gives back a "no samsung ssd's found"  result.

The firmware update needs to be running on a compatible system such as vSAN Ready Node or PowerEdge with a supported operating system such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Microsoft Windows Server.

Since the drives seem to work fine, there is no need to update their firmware.  The GD57 firmware addresses rare case where drive will return uncorrectable read errors.

@Chino de Oro You make a couple of assumption that to me are unfound. I have no way of knowing if the ssd's "seem to work fine", thats just an assumption you make. I myself assume that dell doesnt make the huge effort to release new firmware for nothing, that must have a serious , good enough reason, especially since this is about enterprise storage products.

So again, i would like to update my ssd's firmware to the latest GD57, hope someone can help. Maybe i can temporarily boot from a enterprise linux distro and begin flashing from there? Or do a temporarily  windows server install on an unused computer?

@4567345745684 , I did not make assumption.  You said that on your original post "They seem to work fine."

About BIOS version GD57 released on June 2018, the BIOS page indicated the release addresses the following:

If you really do want to update the firmware for your SSD, temporarily install it into a compatible system which runs Windows server or Enterprise Linux.  As you already know, your current system and OS could not run the firmware update.

Important:  the firmware update will not run if any of the following conditions exist:

1. Any Virtual Disk that is not optimal.
2. A RAID container that is performing a Background Initialization or Consistency Check.
3. A Rebuild, Resync, or copyback function is taking place.
4. A RAID set that is Partially Degraded or in a Degraded state.

This update will run on drives remaining in a RAID set that is in a Offline state.

@Chino de Oro Exactly, they SEEM to work fine. As i already mentioned: after receiving them i only did a secure erase, which appears to be supported by these enterprise drives, and checked their smart values. My next step would be to update their firmware and then start using them.

"If you really do want to update the firmware for your SSD, temporarily install it into a compatible system which runs Windows server or Enterprise Linux"
What does that mean, a "compatible" system? I'm not going to buy a poweredge just to upgrade a drives firmware, that seems obvious?

"

I don't have and are not going to buy an entire setup with raidcontroller and backplanes just to update a firmware, that also seems very obvious.

Come on, i cant be that impossible to just run a firmware update to an sata ssd. In the end, its just a 2,5" case with a controller chip and a couple of mlc flash chips. I've used countless solid state drives (and updated their firmwares) over the years, even industrial and enterprise ones. And never encountered these crazy demands for an update package.
